A winter's day hike in the dune with the Sony A1 and 200-600mm
Nothing much to add really other then it was a really nice and sunny day, warm even. The sun blasted over the dunes. However a few hours later the clouds came rolling in and the grey weather was taking over. Still some nice photos to take with me after a 3 hour hike.
EXPLORING SWITZERLAND'S GRINDELWALD - DAY 5+6 Panorama loop and last hike
The last one to rule them all. A long time in the making and it took way too long. The last one in the series of Grindelwald exploration. This time I combined the last two days as day 5 was an epic and long day (my fault entirely). The last day was a more relaxed day, as it was an easy walk downwards to the city center, however the day ended with an absolutely stellar shot (in context of that day). Nice!
EXPLORING SWITZERLAND'S GRINDELWALD - DAY 4 Jungfrau above the clouds
So this is embarrassing, this blog took way too long. Construction at home, work, covid etc. It all didn’t help. However all is done and finished, sort of. There are two more blogs of Switzerland coming up, including this one -or- when I feel like it I just dump it all in one blog. One to rule them all.
EXPLORING SWITZERLAND'S GRINDELWALD - DAY 2 & 3 Trying to go outside
So where did we left off the last blog? Due to construction at home, holidays and suddenly it becoming 2022 and the next lockdown, I get lost in my to do list. This one is far over due as well as the following days I spend in the Alpes in Switzerland. I’ll be short this one as day 2 and 3 where full of rain and mist. However still wanted to get some hiking done as siting inside in such a surrounding feels a total waste.
Exploring Switzerland's Grindelwald - Day 1 arriving
After 1,5 year staying in The Netherlands for holiday or just travel and travel photography I finally got to a point where I could plan (with all covid-19 measures in place) and go on a trip. The mountains were calling as I had the urge to see and experience mountains, hiking and views like I did two years ago in the Dolomites. See here in other blog stories. Man, I really liked the Dolomites!
Hunting a hunting heron with the Sony A1 and 200-600mm
So summer is always challenging for photography, especially landscape photography, but also wildlife and nature as all seems to slow down or just play hide and seek. Summer it seems to be the transition phase between the busy spring period and the preparing for winter autumn period.
Bad weather and birds hiding in the tall grass with the Sony a7riv and 200-600mm
It has been cloudy and raining a lot here in the west part of The Netherlands. This is a good thing for the vegetation and farmers are happy I guess. It doesn't do well for great photography when its dull and grey. However sometimes the cloudy skies will let sunlight filter through as it did the last few days. You can feel the damped air, sun light when it hits and with this the grasslands just explode.
Photo hide, birding in Kalmthout with the Sony A7riv and 200-600mm
A few weeks ago when borders where opened and Corona restrictions where slowly lifted I went to a nature park that crosses the Dutch and Belgian border. I went to Kalmthout to photograph birds and see if a new photo hide would give me a new and exciting perspectives in bird photography. The hide was surrounded by water, which is not always the case. In this situation there was not only a small pond for the birds, but also a small creek crossing at the other side of the hide. So two different views and compositions.
Evening sun and birding around the corner with the sony a7riv and 200-600mm
Summer is here! Warm weather, late(r) evenings and golden hours for ages. Ha! I love it. Time to go explore, just around the corner here over in the meadows, but still fun to do and doesn’t take up much time. This time I took my new gimbal head with me on a tripod to get the best shots, but more so to get some additional video. I really got excited in not only capturing photos but also video. So scroll down to see short clips and the photos of course.
