STREET MACRO PART 6 - THE AK DIFFUSER again
So part 6 already, the final one and I will now revert to normal blogs. As in the end it’s not about what I do but what I experience and photograph. It doesn’t really matter if it’s on my street or not. The AK diffuser came in the mail. It took a while to properly setup, but I think I got the sweet spot. The main thing is the light it produces is just lovely and more so, due to the enclosed nature of the diffuser more light hits the insets, so I can photograph with a lower flash setting.
Street Macro part 4 - just figuring out style and colour but missing a key ingredient
So part 4 of my street macro, its has been fun up till now. Really enjoying finding bugs and just do the complex technical stuff and finding compositions. However I start to reach a plateau due to lighting with flash and hand holding the foldable diffuser. It kind of limits me. So for the next part I ordered and AK Diffuser. Let’s see in the next blog if it lives up to its promises.
Macro just around the corner, better yet just in my street, street macro part 3 with the Olympus 60mm & Raynox 250
After the first two outings, basically going out in the garden and outside my house on the street I was ready for part 3. This all sounds really serious, but it’s not and it is. I really love finding compositions and practicing my macro photography. The fun part is, is that I don’t need to hike for hours, don’t need to take the car for a drive, just go outside and shoot! The best thing ever!
Its a small world after all, a bugs life, new to macro and loving it with the Olympus 60mm macro
The last time I did macro or even owned a proper macro lens is now 10 years ago probably. It never really stuck with me. I don’t know why, but I rather did landscape photography. These days I am more about nature and wildlife photography, especially birds. So my interest in macro got sparked again with the Olympus M.Zuiko 300mm PRO lens that has some “macro” capabilities. So when seeing a good second hand deal on an Olympus M.Zuiko 60mm macro lens I jumped on it.
Doing Marco with a telephoto lens in my local area and some birding
So new toys means new ideas and new opportunities. Not that it prevented me to do this in the past, but this reminded me of actually using a telephoto lens for more than just birding photos. This lens is also capable of doing semi-macro photos which I love and it sort of sparkled an old enthusiasm of macro photography.
