Macro just around the corner, better yet just in my street, street macro part 3 with the Olympus 60mm & Raynox 250

After the first two outings, basically going out in the garden and outside my house on the street I was ready for part 3. This all sounds really serious, but it’s not and it is. I really love finding compositions and practicing my macro photography. The fun part is, is that I don’t need to hike for hours, don’t need to take the car for a drive, just go outside and shoot! The best thing ever!
Now I upped my game a bit with the small Olympus clip on flash, a simple diffuser and the Raynox 250 on the 60mm Olympus macro lens to get even cooler photos. I took some figuring out, but it worked like a charm and I was quickly searching for little bugs!
As I walked for meters ;-) I found the first cool bugs. The coolest one would be the Iris pseudacorus - Weevil (Lissnuitkever) that was bathing in a yellow flower enjoying the pollen party! Ha! I really enjoyed photographing this little bug.
Also captured the same type of spider again, but now much clearer due to a proper flash and the Raynox filter. That really helps to get rid of halos or almost diffraction type of blur. Anyway I loved it. The Raynox is a super filter and really comes in its own right, not only to get past 1:1 magnification, but also for a clearer photo in the end!
I am really starting to like macro photography and already have a proper flash on order plus a AK Diffuser for better light and handling. This pop-up flash diffuser is awkward to hold with one hand. Also with the Raynox 250 filter added the depth of field is so small you need to be steady and that is not working really well with the pop-up flash diffuser.
Next time it’s time for some focus stacking and some added colourful backgrounds (not sure if I like this, takes away from the nature part of it, but it sure is stylish).
Anyway there you have it! All photos shot with the OM-1 and the Olympus M.Zuiko 60mm macro lens and the Raynox 250 filter attached. Click to view larger in a light box and navigate with mouse or arrow keys. Enjoy!
