Street Macro part 4 - just figuring out style and colour but missing a key ingredient

Full screen gallery below

So part 4 of my street macro, its has been fun up till now. Really enjoying finding bugs and just do the complex technical stuff and finding compositions. However I start to reach a plateau due to lighting with flash and hand holding the foldable diffuser. It kind of limits me. So for the next part I ordered and AK Diffuser. Let’s see in the next blog if it lives up to its promises.

For now I was searching for spider and thought I found one, but is was actually a spider outgrown its skin basically. Fascinating to see that spider just shed off its almost complete body.

Going on the hunt for some other bugs, beatles or weevils I found this really really green one. I like it just because of its greenish - man it just exploded of the screen when I too the photo. That’s what I love in photography, the amazing moment when you review the result, especially in macro photography.

As you can see here I still struggle a bit with the highlights of the flash and the foldable diffuser. So the AK diffuser is very much welcomed in this regard, lets see if this will help in the future.

In the end I found a whole nest of spiders. I could not make up how many but it was surely more than couple of dozen. They were so tiny almost impossible to photograph. Still managed to catch a few.

Anyway there you have it! All photos shot with the OM-1 and the Olympus M.Zuiko 60mm macro lens and the Raynox 250 filter attached. Click to view larger in a light box and navigate with mouse or arrow keys. Enjoy!
