Leuvenumse bos - Forest hike with the X-T3 and 50-140

I’ve been looking into different hiking trails in the forest area the Veluwe this time around, to capture wildlife and nature. A more forest type of photography. This was the first outing with the Fujinon 50-140F2.8 and the photos weren’t the primary goal, just a nice walk and getting to know the 50-140 and how it behaves.

I ended up in the Leuvenumse bossen, near Ermelo at the edge of the the Veluwe area. This is a really nice forest as there are wild bore, dear, birds and more to find here. For me though this time, it was just a nice hike, nothing more. I was too late in morning anyway to capture some cool wildlife shots.

I took the Lowepro photosport with me, my new hiking friend, not that big, but can just carry three lenses. Together with the tripod and a water bladder which holds up to two liters. For the photos I took the Fujifilm X-T3, Fujinon 10-24F4, Fujinon 16-55F2.8 and the Fujinon 50-140F2.8.

As I said it was the first real time for me trying out the 50-140 lens. This one is special! OIS is great, focusses fast and reliable, plus it is just light enough to not use the tripod collar/foot (it is way too big in my opinion). One thing though, I find the lens to be too sharp, meaning out of focus areas (bokeh) are sometimes rendered too harshly. Something Fuji can work on in future lenses!

So now for some of the first photos, certainly not portfolio work, but nice nonetheless. Click to view larger in a light box and navigate with mouse or arrow keys. Enjoy!
