Hiking and bird watching at Sallandse Heuvelrug - Fujifilm X-T3 and 100-400mm
A weekend escape just the two of us, going on a hike and bird watching from a special photo hide, a hut so to say, in the east of The Netherlands. The bird watching spot is situated in the area of the Sallandse heuvelrug, therefor we also decided to do a day hike there and as it’s quite a drive we decided to stay the weekend, nice!
A Random bird blog with the Fujifilm X-T3 and the Fujinon 100-400mm
I’ll keep this on short. Two interesting new places that I discovered in the Breda area for “wetlands” and forest type of photography. It was not the best day, but at the end of the day the sun just showed itself and for half an hour there was nice light.
Leuvenumse bos - Forest hike with the X-T3 and 50-140
I’ve been looking into different hiking trails in the forest area the Veluwe this time around, to capture wildlife and nature. A more forest type of photography. This was the first outing with the Fujinon 50-140F2.8 and the photos weren’t the primary goal, just a nice walk and getting to know the 50-140 and how it behaves.
Full autumn colours in the forest - Speulderbos
This year I was ready, mid autumn with full colours of the forest trees and leaves, because every year I seem to just miss the ideal few days where the colour is at its best. This year (2018) we had a particularly warm autumn, meaning that the trees kept their leaves much longer, so I was especially lucky.
Germany mid autumn colours, visiting Burg Eltz & Hubertus Viaduct
Time to head off to photograph a favourite of mine or the one that is still way on top of the list to photograph. We left early, not that early because we knew, the conditions were not optimal. Saying I wanted a nice thick fog and sun to reveal the Burg, but we got treated to the warmest day in October ever I guess. Well, it didn’t spoil the fun we had.
Hürtgenwald - you can feel the history!
During summer I wanted to visit this icon forest. Photographing the forest early morning together with sunlight hitting the trees and ground, lightening the green mossy concrete ruins of this historical and heavily fought battle in this forest during the war.
New Year's holiday in Moesel-Saarland
This new year's holiday we decided to go out Germany, staying in the Moesel area right in the middle between Luxembourg city and Frankfurt, around Trier. A perfect place for going out to Saarland and walk around and next to the Moesel.
Park Eifel and the Urft Dam (with video)
Long on the list and after some research we (with Marc Duiker) drove to Park Eifel. A nature reserver situated near the south east of The Netherlands. It is a long drive, but we figured it is worth it as there are hiking trails, forests and the Urft Dam.
Brachter Wald - Family hiking trails
Brachter Wald is a nature reserve in Noordrijn-Westfalen, west of Bracht, on the high planes of the Maas. Elevation of this area varies up till 60 meters. Not that difficult but with perfect walking trails a nice family hiking area.
