The San Francisco trip - San Francisco and Santa Cruz

What to do with a week of vacation? That was our question, go to a city here in Europe, because time is limited or just something else. Well even though the long journey we decided to go to San Francisco and Yosemite National Park.
Yes the flight was 10 hours, but the time difference meant that we left Friday morning from Amsterdam and landed in San Francisco at 13h the same day. So yes... jet lagged (although it was not that bad), but we had the rest of the day to get settled.
This trip was not about photography or a planned photography trip, but you know, I still need to bring the camera along. Why not, right? And boy did we discover some epic scenes form cityscapes to landscapes and beautiful nature, that you just don't have in Europe.
On this trip I took my favourite bag the Lowepro Flipside Sport 15L. Small enough to be portable, but strong and big enough to fit the gear I needed on this trip. The gear I brought along this time was the Fujifilm X-T2 with the 10-24mm, 35mm, 55-200mm and the 8mm Fisheye, together with the MeFoto Roadtrip tripod and Lee and Haida filters.
This first part of this series documents the first few days in San Francisco and the road trip to Santa Cruz. Getting to see the city, an epic sunset at Baker Beach and the nice coastal road to Santa Cruz.
I still think back to this trip and find San Francisco and surrounding area to be so relaxed, with friendly and helpful people and just amazing nature. But the people stand out, here in Europe where we are all packed together (especially in The Netherlands) and stressed out, we certainly can learn a few things from the relaxed west coast mentality.
Ok! .. first set of photo's.
