Golden light, common birds in the area with the X-T3 and 100-400mm

After the cold temperatures, snow and ice the warm weather quickly made its entrance. That resulted in really nice mornings and afternoons with a low sun and golden light. This is the advantage of the winters over here, the low sun and clear skies when its still relatively cold, have this yellow and golden light. Something that is present during a few hours. In short we have not a golden hour, but several golden hours. How cool is that!

The last few days this light was really present and clear, meaning epic golden light and soft shadows. That was the sign for me to go out and get some shots in the bag. For me I took my normal path towards the meadows and marsh area. There I captured some common (water) birds, nothing special, but the light made it all worth it!

The fist few shots where from a distance, quite far away, taken with the 100-400mm and the 1.4TC. Still over those distances the resolution takes a hit, the TC is good, but not that good over these distances. Still again beautiful light and trying to get some nice compositions.

For now all the photos! And don’t hesitate to leave a comment or an e-mail. All photos are taken with the Fujifilm X-T3 and the Fujinon 100-400mm, some with the 1.4TC. Click to view larger in a light box and navigate with mouse or arrow keys. Enjoy!
