Lazy Sunday in Bentwoud - local nature area

So with all the latest blogs from France to Germany and back to Belgium I have this small blog. Nothing travel related or an exciting adventure, just a lazy Sunday hike in Bentwoud. Bentwoud is a new nature and recreational area right in the middle of the randstad. It has been transformed from farm land into this area in 2016. Since then 2,5 million trees and bushes are planted here which makes this quite a big area of around 800 hectares.

So with this sizeable area and a lot of birds in the surrounding areas it is almost impossible not to see any birds whatsoever on a nice day hike. It is easily accessible and there are many hiking trails from asfalt to gravel and grass. So something for everyone.

This sunny sunday afternoon we got treated to some falcons, a goldfinch, some geese, a heron and a buzzard. Which I was not able to photograph - too late - dammit. Ow well, will need to come back next time.

This time I opted for a black and white series as I felt it was the feel and contrast that really asked for this to be in black and white. By the way, nature and landscape photography can be absolutely stunning in black and white! Take my advice and look for contrasty areas and try to shoot black and white. You won’t be disappointed.

For now enjoy the photographs, all taken with the Fujifilm X-T2 and the Fujinon 100-400mm handheld. Click to view larger in a light box and navigate with mouse or arrow keys. Enjoy!
