Early autumn in the dunes

So I have a few posts now on my backlog. However I’m finally done with the Étretat photos from spring. We are already at the end of autumn, but I have a few epic autumn post. I guess I will share these first. Étretat can wait.

This time beginning of autumn, actually a really nice Indian summer evening, I got out after work and ended up round 18:00h in the dunes. Together with the Fujifilm X-T2 and Fujinon XF 100-400mm lens and some DJI Mavic Air drone shots, I was pretty happy hiking through the dunes at Vogelenzang. I have been here before, so I knew what I was looking for.

My main goal was to get some deer fighting as it was mating season -or- a nice deer against the low backlit sunset. As shoots go, you can’t plan, so my initial idea did not really materialize, maybe also due to the fact that I was playing with the drone too long. Ow well, it was fun nonetheless. The drone shots and video will come later.

For now enjoy the photos. I especially like the backlit photos and the last shot or the young deer, just around sunset. Click to view larger in a light box and navigate with mouse or arrow keys.
